With our background in entertainment lighting controls and the wealth of interest in “intelligent” lighting fixtures and colour changing for the architectural world we have combined our knowledge in both of these areas to create systems capable of bridging the gap between Architectural and Entertainment controls or “Architainment” controls as they have become known.
The key to controlling these systems is the DMX Protocol which was developed for the entertainment world. For larger Architectural projects the Evolution System has DMX control built on board. For smaller projects the ColourStyle and DMX Replay provide sophisticated, yet simple control of DMX Devices.
DMX Control
DMX512 is a digital protocol that was introduced in 1990 to control complex effects lighting in the theatrical and entertainment industries. More recently DMX512 has been adopted by the architectural lighting industry as the preferred protocol for colour mixing and multi-channel sequencing. Mode offer a range of simple DMX controllers for smaller projects allowing the colour mixing and chasing of neon and other light sources to be used in applications where budgets would not have previously allowed. These include a three channel infrared system for the COLOURTRAN which enables selection of pre-programmed static colours or subtle automatic cross fading.
The DMX Replay is supplied with the necessary software allowing it to be programmed by a computer. It can then be left in “Stand Alone” mode, whereby it will recall patterns and settings automatically, or it may be connected to a control plate or system for user control.
